Wooning Orchids launches new company name World of Orchids

Phalaenopsis nursery Wooning Orchids in Bleiswijk has a new company name as of today: World of Orchids – Where happiness grows. The new name better reflects the organisation and the company’s vision for the future. World of Orchids looks forward to a bright future with great confidence.

A nod to the past and the future
Following the acquisition of Green ’05 in 2021, the company’s course has gradually changed. For example, the focus is now entirely on growing 12 cm Phalaenopsis for the retail market, and changes have taken place within the organisation. Arco van der Kaaij is now the owner of Wooning Orchids and no members of the Wooning family are still working for the company. Partly because of this, it was time to say goodbye to the old company name and choose a new one.

The name World of Orchids – Where happiness grows refers to both the past and the future. The word “World” also appeared in the pay-off of Wooning Orchids, namely “World of varieties”. For the Bleiswijk-based grower, the world is central in various ways.

By innovating in the field of sustainability and continuing to reduce our footprint, we are taking steps that benefit the world. For example, last year we invested in full LED lighting and a heat pump. We also offer our customers a world of possibilities through our product range.

Phalaenopsis for the retail market
At its modern nursery covering more than 10 hectares in Bleiswijk, World of Orchids grows 12 cm Phalaenopsis, focusing on a strong and high-quality range. A number of strong varieties have been selected, which are available in large quantities every week. When selecting the range, the focus is mainly on 2 and 3 branches. Expansion to other pot sizes or forms of Phalaenopsis is certainly not ruled out in the future. In the coming year, the focus will first be on further improving cultivation and quality.

Using modern techniques and sustainable cultivation methods, World of Orchids creates Phalaenopsis with high ornamental value and a long lifespan. Perfectly suited for supplying high-quality retailers and chains throughout Europe. Providing perfect service and entering into long-term partnerships with customers are central to this. Ultimately, the most important thing is to make consumers happy with a beautiful Phalaenopsis at an affordable price that they can enjoy for a long time.

The new name is supported by a chic, new corporate identity for the entire company. The new corporate identity brings everything together: the company’s vision, the class of the product and beautiful images from the nursery.
